natural cure for depression?
I’ll be 17 October 5th and I’ve been clinically depressed for 3 years. I was diagnosed but never put on medication because my mother didn’t want a "medded up kid." I now don’t have any insurance and I’ve been having manic episodes of depression for the last year; I’m insanely happy and through the roof with joy and nothing could evr hurt me and nothing could ever get me down, then in two minutes it seems I’m so low I contemplate suicide just to end this torturous rollar coaster.
I also suffer with an eating disorder (for the last year and a half) and I’m becoming desperate. Please help me. What are some natural cures for depression??? Anything you might have done? I’m trying to hold on, but this is just getting to be too much for me. Please help me.

There are some that say using things like aconitine or anacardium works. These are the ones we studied in toxicology class because they’re so dangerous.
I was lucky enough to have some friends that cared about me and even after talking to my therapist, the thing that helped me the most was knowing my friends cared and that I have someone to talk to. The future always turns out better. It’s a bit cliche, but from experience, sometimes all it takes is having just one person to talk to. These days I try to help people who were in the same position as I was.

There isn’t really any "cure" for depression. Even medication is not a cure, it just helps with the symptoms. What you need to do is see a counselor who can help you find ways to manage your depression and make beneficial lifestyle changes. You also need to see a counselor to help you with your eating disorder.
Some other things that may help are: exercise, B vitamins, drinking more water, reducing sugar in your diet, meditation and yoga, and a supportive group of friends and family members.
You shouldn’t do this alone. If you need help, get it. It’s not impossible to recover from depression and lead a normal life.

exercise at least 30 minutes a day.
A healthy weight
Eat whole grains,dark green veggies,tomatoes etc.
fruit .
Find a local whole food and vitamin store.

yoga. It has helped with breathing exercises to be done in juxtaposition w/ the physical exercises. Also, maybe a course in home economics with instruction/directions on portion size. You would be surprised at how little a portion is. An eating disorder can be very unhealthy. I suggest diabetic cooking as it is the most healthful of all cooking.
I gather you are still living at home. You do not have to tell your mother any of this. Offer to cook dinner. Cut down on any processed food and substitute brown rice for white rice, brown sugar or aspartame for white sugar, ETC. Simple healthy choices to make you feel better!
Please stop drinking coffee and coke. They are forms of caffeine. Do not substitute them for nutritious food. The worst thing to do is get full of caffeine. Get cheap-dollar store, walmart, walgreen’s discount, etc. sealed vitamins/minerals in you as it is an imbalance in your brain, and not a mental condition at all. It is medical in origin.

There are totally cures for depression! Depressed people get cured through diet not drugs. A lot of vitamin deficiency symptoms are depression. A common thing for depressed patients to test super low in is B vitamins, especially niacin. Go get yourself a B-complex vitamin.

I can tell you from experience that the natural way is not the way to go with something this serious that has lasted this long. I always try to go the natural route when I can but I was just like you and attempted suicide many times. I was finally put on a regiment of drugs until we found the right thing. My friends are sure that my Psychiatrist kept me alive during that time. I am now still depressed some and on two medications one for depression, one for anxiety and doing much better. I also found out I have ADD but I can’t take any medication for it, my body won’t tolerate it so I just have to deal with it. Get some help somehow, call United Way or find a local public mental health facility. We want you around for a long time!
