How can i overcome depression on my own. DEPRESSION overcomers? PLEASE ANSWER?
I feel numb, as if no feeling reaches my heart.
Im trying to overcome this feeling, by telling myself the following quote
"every day in everyway i am getting better"
But i need more tips.
I would appreciate if some people who overcame depression could tell me some tips to help me

one thing that helped me get through it was looking around me and seeing the people who are part f my life.
you need to really open your eyes and observe the people who you love, and that love you back. you should take in their actions, however small they might be, and realise just how much you mean to them.
it helps you feel like you have a meaning, and a place in life that you should be there for.

It sounds like that quote’s lying. You can buy plenty of books about depression or pursue an interest to take your mind off things. Walk around outside can help. Listen to some Jandek records. You’ll just feel more depressed. Btw, don’t watch Dr. Phil. That guy’s an idiot.

Well we need more detail like why you feel depressed etc. more about your life in general. There are always pills, but they never really help but give you the feeling that you are getting "better". What i would suggest you find is just a new passion or anything like that. Something that can take your mind of reality for a bit. Like a sport and anything of the sort. Also friends help. have a good time with them

It’s hard to "overcome" depression. If is clinical then it is not something you can control. A combination of life-style change, therapy and if all else fails, meds. Do things that interest you, socialize, hook up with friends.

Start talking to people who make you laugh like crazy, or any sexual foreplay would take it away in a second. Although, these are more quick fixes rather than the long term i’m not going to be depressed anymore at all thing. To fix long term depression, you need to do what is needed to be in a satisfied state in whatever you feel is depressing you. If there is nothing that could possibly be in your life that is causing depression, meaning your life feels empty, it could be time for involving yourself in something, or someone.
